1- Evaluate and advise patients on the risk involved with having surgery, 2- Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities, and patient function while adhering to regulatory and ethical protocols, 3- Follow established surgical techniques during surgery. 4- Performance of basic minimally invasive procedures and endoscopy ( gastroscopy and colonoscopy), 5- Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatment and procedures, 6- Ensure sterility in the operating room, and all equipment and instruments, 7- Direct and coordinate activities of hospital staff for proper patient care, 8- Oversee all treatment prior to and post-surgery and identify potential risks or complications and manage them accordingly, 9- Participates in administrative duties, including monthly census, audits, morbidity and mortality reports, 10-Follows medical practice policies and procedures, including attending all mandatory meetings, minimizing incident reports, using resources efficiently, and practicing medicine in a cost- effective manner, 11-Completes all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and to comply with electronic medical record requirements, 12-Be knowledgeable in the structure of careful handling of all equipment used and to be aware of the need to and report faulty equipment, 13-Coordinates follow-up meetings with patients and monitor health conditions after surgery or treatment, 14-Provide effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team caregivers and families, 15-Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of rights for patients, 16-Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and abilities at the General Surgical Consultant level,

1- Coordinate General Surgery Specialist care for patients within the General Surgery department and in the Hospital, 2- Liaise with other healthcare professionals both in the hospital and primary care settings, 3- Defines the role of the General Surgeon, within the Hospital, developing appropriate protocols, auditing, and benchmarking the General Surgery service for adult patients, 4- Ensure the provision of quality service in line with hospital policy, General Surgery guidelines and other national quality health standards, 5- Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently., Coordinate and advise on the provision of specialist supplies within budgetary constraints, 6- Collaborates with managers, medical, nursing and other health care professionals within the Hospital with regard to specific departmental and Hospital goals and activities related to adult General Surgery, 7- Promotes open communication, healthy working relationships and shows initiative amongst all hospital staff, 8- Reports accidents/incidents, and complaints; and ensures that risk management forms are completed, 9- Plan and execute disease/illness prevention and health promotion programs, 10-Ensures a safe environment for staff and patients, 11-Works in collaboration with other surgical consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team, to develop care pathways, which will ensure that patients receive a high standard of evidence-based care,
